About the Speaker
Gabriel Reyes is a bat biologist with USGS Western Ecological Research Center, in California. He received his Master’s at Humboldt State University studying the social behavior and vocalizations of hoary bats (Lasiurus cinereus), and has continued his research on this species and migratory bats ever since. After completing his Masters, he worked in ecological consulting primarily on wildlife-energy interactions including both solar and wind energy. At USGS, he and his team work on a wide variety of topics around bat ecology in the Western US, with an emphasis on his ongoing obsession with bat migration.
