REWRF Biennial Project Solicitation 2025

Requests for Wind and Solar Research Proposals Now Closed

Members have selected two new projects to begin in 2026.

The Renewable Energy Wildlife Research Fund (REWRF, the Fund) is completing its biennial project solicitation. The 2025 Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for wind- and solar-wildlife research projects were due Friday, July 11, 2025, and applications are currently under review.

The two requests seek project proposals to consider for funding in the following areas:

  • Solar: Describe and improve the ecological value and ecosystem services provided by utility scale solar installations.
  • Wind: Increase the efficiency of post construction mortality monitoring (PCMM) and simplify implementation of informed curtailment in the presence or expected presence of bat species.

Projects selected through this solicitation will become a part of the REWRF project portfolio. More detailed information on research objectives, proposal guidelines, timeline, and evaluation criteria can be found in the RFPs (included below).
