REWRF Opens Biennial Project Solicitation

Requests for Wind and Solar Research Proposals Open Through July 11, 2025

The Renewable Energy Wildlife Research Fund (REWRF, the Fund) is excited to announce its biennial project solicitation. The 2025 Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for wind- and solar-wildlife research projects are now open through Friday, July 11, 2025.

The two requests seek project proposals to consider for funding in the following areas:

  • Solar: Describe and improve the ecological value and ecosystem services provided by utility scale solar installations.
  • Wind: Increase the efficiency of post construction mortality monitoring (PCMM) and simplify implementation of informed curtailment in the presence or expected presence of bat species.

Projects selected through this solicitation will become a part of the REWRF project portfolio. More detailed information on research objectives, proposal guidelines, timeline, and evaluation criteria can be found in the RFPs.

Proposals should be submitted via email to REWRF (fund@rewi.org) by 11:59pm PT, July 11, 2025.  Proposals submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Questions regarding the application process should be directed to Trey McDonald, REWRF Lead (tmcdonald@rewi.org). More information on the current REWRF project portfolio can be found on the projects webpage.
